Rutgers Junior Christopher Gotterup continued his stellar play in 2019 by winning the Fighting Irish Classic title on Tuesday in South Bend, Indiana. He finished with a 14-under-par 199 (68-63-68) to win by 8 strokes. It was the first individual championship of his Rutgers career and his final score of 199 tied for the second lowest in the tournament’s history, spurred by a high of 17 birdies over the three days.
Gotterup’s big win comes after he produced two individual titles this past summer when he won the the 99th New Jersey State Golf Association Open Championship and the the 117th Met Amateur Championship, which we covered here.
