If there were still Rutgers fans skeptical the school's new athletics health and practice would actually be built, Monday had to dash those doubts.
The final piece of structural steel was placed down on the construction site for the new RWJBarnabas Health Athletic Performance Center next to the Rutgers Athletics Center during a "topping off" ceremony.
"This is a special day for Rutgers," athletics director Patrick Hobbs said. "When I came here I said we're going to be about championships. We don't just say that. We believe that. It takes time. It takes building.
"Some of the mindset we've had to combat was 'Is this really going to happen?
