Rutgers blown out by Seton Hall as transfer Shakena Richardson shines

SOUTH ORANGE – The thing missing from the Rutgers-Seton Hall women’s basketball rematch wasn’t the postseason atmosphere.

It was the competitiveness.

After having its last two seasons ended by Rutgers, Seton Hall dominated the latest installment of the intrastate rivalry with a 77-49 victory Monday night in front of a lively crowd of 1,628 at Walsh Gym.

“One of the things that we told them — and I got it from our priest, Father — was, ‘Don’t make it a revenge game,’ ” Seton Hall coach Tony Bozzella said. “ ‘Just make it a game that you want to win.
