Rutgers basketball blitzed by No. 16 Ohio State, fall into Big Ten basement

Rutgers was able to weather one storm at Ohio State on Tuesday night.

It couldn't handle a second.

C.J. Jackson led three OSU scorers in double figures as the No. 16 Buckeyes shook off a rough end to the first half and routed the Scarlet Knights, 79-52, at Value City Arena in Columbus.

The game was defined by a trio of runs that transpired over the final 9:15 of the first half and the first eight minutes of the second.

Ohio State went on a 11-0 tear to build a 19-point lead with 5:41 to go before halftime.
