After a disappointing spring break trip, Rutgers got back to business Tuesday against Stony Brook.
Rutgers 6, Stony Brook 5
The Scarlet Knights started Jared Bellissimo on the hill. Jared ironed out the kinks from his last two outings and stymied the Seawolves for five shutout innings. He walked two, allowed two hits, and struck out six for his first career win.
The offense immediately gave their pitcher a 1-0 lead with a Tim Dezzi ground rule double in the bottom of the first inning that scored Mike Nyisztor. Dezzi was at it again to double in Kevin Welsh and kickstart a five run third.
