Scott DelVecchio’s finest moment came on a late Friday night in March at the NCAA Championships in Cleveland.
He trailed Drexel’s Austin DeSanto big in the third period and it seemed his All-American dream would be over. Then, by continuing to force the action, he forced overtime and scored a winning takedown. One of Rutgers’ fan favorites finally made the podium.
The ensuing yell for joy would be heard throughout the whole arena. Well, the Stevens Institute of Technology better be ready for that type of enthusiasm.
Stevens head coach Joe Favia said he was ecstatic about bringing DelVecchio aboard a rising program.
