Rutgers senior Ron Harper Jr. was one of 20 college basketball players named to the Watch List for the Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award on Wednesday. The announcement was made by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
Last season, Harper Jr. was one of five finalists for this award that was ultimately given to Gonzaga’s Corey Kispert. In leading Rutgers into March Madness for the first time in 30 years and an NCAA Tournament victory for the first time in 38 years, Harper Jr. averaged 14.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.
