Rutgers junior Ron Harper Jr. was one of five college basketball players named a finalist for the Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award on Wednesday. He joined Corey Kispert of Gonzaga, Isaiah Livers of Michigan, Sam Hauser of Virginia and Terrence Shannon of Texas Tech.
Harper Jr. is averaging 15.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He is shooting 44.3% from the floor, 31.2% from three-point range, and 74.6% from the free throw line. He has scored in double digits in 15 of 20 games played and has registered three double-doubles.
