Furious Rutgers fans who want to know what Pat Hobbs was thinking when he extended his football coach’s contract need to look back to the fall of 2015.
That’s when Rutgers University's risk-management and compliance office — along with a Kansas City-based law firm that specializes in reviewing NCAA violations — conducted an investigation of the football program.
NJ Advance Media detailed Kye Flood’s football program was being probed in early October 2015. The report cited the recruiting-ambassador program and allegations of multiple failed drug tests as the two areas of the investigators’ focus.
