We are back with episode #29 of our On The Banks podcast. This week, host Lance Glinn is joined by former Rutgers men’s soccer player and current manager of MLS club Sporting Kansas City.
During his senior season at Rutgers in 1987, Vermes was a First Team All-American and runner-up for National Player of the Year while leading the program to its first NCAA Tournament victory in two plus decades, scoring the winning goal against Seton Hall. He went on to play professionally for more than a decade and made 66 appearances for the U.S. National Soccer Team, including the 1988 Olympics, the 1990 World Cup, and the 1991 Gold Cup.
