The no. 21/13 Rutgers women’s soccer team played in-state rival RV/25 Princeton (2-1-1) to a scoreless tie on the road on Saturday night. Reigning Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week Meagan McClelland tied a career high with five saves in the game.
It was a mostly even contest, but Princeton held a 14-10 shot advantage, although Rutgers produced more shots in overtime than in regulation. Princeton also held a 6-5 edge in corner kicks.
After the host Tigers were the aggressors in the second half, the Scarlet Knights defense held them without a shot during the first overtime session.
