The no. 19/13 Rutgers women’s soccer team completed non-conference play with an undefeated record, as they beat Delaware (4-4) by the score of 1-0 in overtime on the road Sunday afternoon. Junior All-American Amirah Ali converted a penalty kick in the 102nd minute for the golden goal and only score in the game.
Rutgers held a 19-8 shot advantage and an 8-3 edge in corner kicks. However, they couldn’t convert in regulation and played its third overtime game of the season. They are 2-0-1 in OT games in 2019 and unbeaten in its last 28 games that went to an extra session since 2016, going 12-0-16.
