The No. 15 Rutgers field hockey team delivered its biggest win of the season over No. 6 UConn 2-1 in double overtime on Friday night. The Scarlet Knights are now 3-0 on the season that includes three road victories and two over opponents ranked in the top 12 nationally.
After a scoreless first period in which Rutgers outshot UConn 3-0, they took the lead with Carly Snarksi scoring the first goal of her career in the second period. It was assisted by Kerrie Burns.
The game remained 1-0 as All-American goalkeeper Gianna Glatz made twol key saves in her season debut to keep the Scarlet Knights ahead into the fourth quarter.
