247sports.comreported Michigan defensive coordinator Greg Mattison traveled to North Jersey to visit Rashan Gary, the Paramus Catholic junior defensive tackle who is ranked as the nation's No. 1 recruit by multiple online recruiting outlets, on the first day of the spring evaluation period Wednesday.
According to a person familiar with the Scarlet Knights' recruiting itinerary, Rutgers also checked in with the 6-4, 295-pound Gary, who holds close to 30 scholarship offers and is being courted by Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Penn State, among others.
