PISCATAWAY – Eight of the 20 Rutgers football alums in the NFL at the end of last season were not drafted, which is a way of saying Kaleb Johnson, Kevin Snyder and Andrew Turzilli are not short on role models.
Johnson (offensive lineman, Baltimore Ravens), Snyder (linebacker, Detroit Lions) and Turzilli (wide receiver, Tennessee Titans) agreed to contracts Saturday night as free agents after the seven-round NFL Draft concluded.
They each have an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the likes of New England Patriots tight end Tim Wright, Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end George Johnson and former NFL stars Shaun O’Hara, Gary Bracket and Deron Cherry.
