It is an NCAA recruiting violation for opposing coaches to talk to recruits who have signed elsewhere. Yet, some recruits, who actually have signed, keep it quiet and ask the schools to keep it quiet for an assortment of reasons. Take Rutgers offensive tackle Reggie Sutton, for instance, who signed on Dec. 20, but had originally intended to keep it quiet until the February signing date so he could mock sign on that day. This can easily lead to coaches from other schools recruiting players perceived to still be on the market, which ultimately could cause their schools sanctions and great stess.
