Notre Dame has been ordered vacate up to two years of wins, including the 2013 season that culminated with a triumph over Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl, as a result of violations committed by a former student athletic trainer, the NCAA announced Tuesday.
As a result of the NCAA determining that a Notre Dame trainer committed academic misconduct for two football players and provided six other players with extra benefits, Notre Dame was forced to vacate all records for games in which the players participated during the 2012 and 2013 football seasons.
The 2012 season saw the Fighting Irish compile a 12-0 record in the regular season before falling to Alabama in the BCS Championship game.
