True freshman Najee Clayton has been academically cleared to play and has joined the football team for practices.
Clayton is a Paramus Catholic product who was recruited as a safety but will add depth at linebacker for Rutgers. This is huge news for the Scarlet Knights since besides Isaiah Johnson, there are no decent backup linebackers. He will mainly play the SAM position, most likley being Quentin Gause's main backup and could see time on special teams.
