Princeton will host Monmouth on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Powers Field. It will be the first meeting between in-state Division-1 football programs since the last Rutgers-Princeton game in 1980.
The Scarlet Knights will host Monmouth in 2020 for the first time ever, but the Hawks and Tigers will beat Rutgers to the punch of restarting in-state competition between the three Division-1 programs in the Garden State.
Princeton and Rutgers played in the first-ever college football game, of course, in 1869. Rutgers won the first meeting, 6-4, and a second game later that year was won by Princeton.
