Rutgers had two catchers drafted on the third day of the 2018 MLB First Year Player Draft.
Will the Scarlet Knights get one of them back to campus this fall? Or both?
Millburn High star Peter Serruto - an incoming recruit - and junior Nick Matera were both late-round picks on Wednesday. Serruto was selected by the Cincinnati Reds with the 649th overall pick in the 22nd round, while Matera went to the Philadelphia Phillies in the 34th round at pick No. 1,007.
Matera and Serruto went off the board a day after center fielder Jawuan Harris, a two-sport standout who also started at receiver and safety for the football team, was taken by the San Diego Padres with the 201st pick in the seventh round.
