Meet the competitive Hayek twins: Rutgers WR recruits better for 'roller-coaster' year

In an endless stream of competition between twin brothers, Hunter Hayek evened the score Sunday.

Never was Tyler Hayek so willing to surrender a lead.

After receiving word of admittance to the school, Hunter joined the Rutgers recruiting class about seven months after Tyler committed and one week after Wayne Hills High School football teammate Brendan DeVera made his pledge.

"We're not attached at the hip," Hunter told NJ Advance Media through a laugh, "but I was hoping to get a Rutgers offer all along."

The wait became worthwhile when Rutgers offensive coordinator Jerry Kill and defensive backs coach Bill Busch -- who runs point on most North Jersey recruiting -- made an in-home visit last week.
