Before he even arrived on campus, Tim Barrow's versatility helped save Rutgers.
Barrow, a two-way player in high school, could've been a recruit at either wide receiver or cornerback.
But Rutgers' need for cornerbacks -- Ihmir Smith-Marsette (Iowa) and Bryce Watts (Virginia Tech) decommitted leading up to Signing Day -- was greater than its need for wide receivers, with five others inked at the position.
When Barrow committed to Rutgers on May 5, 2016, he originally was penciled in as a wide receiver.
