PISCATAWAY — The Rutgers football community was out in full force on Saturday to support Devin and Jason McCourty's Tackle Sickle Cell campaign.
A group of current Rutgers players attended a blood drive at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital on Saturday afternoon. Later on Saturday, football coach Chris Ash, athletic director Pat Hobbs, about two dozen former Rutgers football players and 200 guests gathered at the recruiting pavilion inside High Point Solutions Stadium for a casino night.
"I think it speaks volumes of this university that guys come here, they share a bond on the football field, they hang out, but then even after they find time to hang out and keep supporting each other in every avenue that they do," Devin McCourty said.
