Kyle Flood facing firing over possible rules violation

Rutgers Scarlet Knights head football coach Kyle Flood could potentially be fired for a rules violation committed this summer, per Keith Sargeant of NJ.com.

Per Sargeant, Flood “could face a suspension or firing because of impermissible contact with a university faculty member regarding the status of one of his players.”

Rutgers’ office of general counsel is investigating the matter, which is centered on an email Flood sent from a personal account to a faculty member regarding the eligibility of junior cornerback Nadir Barnwell.

That said, if Flood is to be disciplined for merely sending an email asking about one of his players, that is even more proof that the NCAA needs to be reformed.
