Kyle Flood defied RU’s academic support staff

As the investigation into Kyle Flood’s alleged inappropriate actions regarding players’ academics continues, the hotter the water around Rutgers’ longtime football coach gets.

Per a report from Keith Sargeant of NJ.com, Rutgers’ academic support staff specifically told Flood not to contact the professor of a likely starting defensive player regarding said player’s academic status, and Flood did so anyway. To add insult to injury, Flood allegedly got in touch from a private email account rather than his school one.

The concerned player has been determined to be cornerback Nadir Barnwell.

“It’s about Kyle trying to circumvent the process and trying to get the kid eligible,” one of the university officials told NJ Advance Media.
