PISCATAWAY Kiy Hester says he knew on Tuesday or Wednesday that he would be getting the first start of his college career on Saturday against Kansas.
Rutgers interim head coach Norries Wilson had a very simple message for the redshirt freshman safety.
“This is what I told Kiy, I said, ‘Guys, this is what you’re going to do. You’re going to decide what you think the right thing to do is and just go do it. You can’t be apprehensive. Anything you do apprehensively, you’re going to screw it up. Just take an assignment, just go and that’s what he did and he had fun,’” Wilson said following the Scarlet Knights’ 27-14 victory over the Jayhawks at High Point Solutions Stadium.
