A protracted unlawful termination case that involved Rutgers Athletics Director Julie Hermann while she served as a deputy AD at the University of Louisville was reversed on Thursday by the Kentucky Supreme Court in favor of the assistant track coach who sued the school and cited Hermann in the lawsuit.
According to a 22-page decision reviewed by NJ Advance Media on Friday, the state's highest court overturned an appellate decision that went against Mary Banker, formerly an assistant coach at Louisville, shortly before Hermann was hired as Rutgers AD in 2013.
Hermann was not a party in the suit, but was prominently involved, serving as a witness for the University of Louisville in the case.
