At the beginning of spring camp, Rutgers coach Chris Ash left open the possibility that he could name a starting quarterback for the 2018 season after the Scarlet-White intrasquad scrimmage.

"No chance,'' Ash said Thursday following his team's seventh spring practice -- the midway point for the Scarlet Knights' spring-training schedule.
Don't mistake Ash's terse statement as an indication that he's not please with the progress his quarterbacks have made this spring.
"We're making a lot of progress,'' Ash said. "Really happy with the group overall. When you look at last year, Gio (Rescigno) was basically the lone soldier here in spring practice.
