When Bo Melton arrived last summer as arguably Rutgers' most heralded recruit, the wide receiver out of Cedar Creek High School set a lofty goal:
"I came here with big aspirations, to be a Big Ten Freshman All-American,'' Melton said. "It didn't work out too well.''
Indeed, Melton struggled to live up to his consensus four-star rating, totaling four receptions for 83 yards despite playing in all 12 games as a true freshman last fall.
"I think it's always a transition regardless of where you've come from, what other people say (about) how good you're are,'' Rutgers wide receivers coach Lester Erb said, justifying Melton's struggles last season.
