The athletic directors from Rutgers and Princeton, as well as officials from the NCAA and other college football governing bodies, announced plans Tuesday to launch a nationwide celebration to commemorate the game's 150th anniversary in 2019.
That Rutgers AD Pat Hobbs and Princeton AD Mollie Marcoux Samaan are among the 13 officials on a committee to formulate ideas for the 150th celebration makes sense considering the Scarlet Knights and the Tigers are credited with playing college football's first game on Nov. 6, 1869.
"I am honored to represent Princeton University, one of the founding fathers of college football, on this national committee,'' Marcoux Samaan said.
