Rutgers has landed its latest local football opponent at a bargain.
The Scarlet Knights will pay Delaware $350,000 for a 2021 home game at HighPoint.com Stadium in Piscataway, according to the game contract obtained by NJ Advance Media through an public records request.
NJ Advance Media first reported the game's scheduling on Thursday.
The payout to the Blue Hens, a member of the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division-1AA) is smaller than what Rutgers will pay Monmouth for the historic first-ever meeting between the schools in 2020. The Hawks will make $375,000 to make the trek up Route 18 from West Long Branch.
