Athletic facilities upgrades at Rutgers are considered “urgent” but increasing fundraising contributions continues to be the biggest key to making progress, according to Rutgers athletics director Julie Hermann.
In a question-and-answer interview conducted within the athletics department and emailed to Rutgers fans Tuesday, Hermann stressed many of the same points in regards to facilities and financial support that she has made in interviews with Gannett New Jersey since Rutgers first joined the Big Ten.
“In the next couple of months, as athletics and (Rutgers president) Dr. Robert Barchi finalize what we think our smartest approach is, we will have a chance to talk with key constituents, who can ensure that we have a chance to make those concepts a reality,” Hermann said.
