PISCATAWAY – As soon as the clock ran out Saturday on the final Rutgers football scrimmage of training camp, it started ticking at a faster pace on Kyle Flood’s decision to name the next starting quarterback.
“I think we’re getting close,” the fourth-year coach said. “I think there’s a minimal amount of time left until I feel like we need to make a decision and start moving forward towards the first game.’’
Flood already reset his timetable once because the battle between Hayden Rettig and Chris Laviano was too close to call after his initial 7-10 day window expired.
