PISCATAWAY – A siren sounded throughout High Point Solutions Stadium shortly after the Rutgers football team completed its first scrimmage, but it was only coincidence that it came after an aerial attack.
Rutgers didn’t look anything like an offense with a first-time starter at quarterback and five proven running backs. Instead it looked like a team with a legitimate quarterback competition on its hands, and enough playmakers in the wide receiver corps to take some of the pressure off of Leonte Carroo.
“We feel like we’re the most experienced guys on the team, so we just have to play like we’ve been playing a lot of football,” Leonte Carroo said.
