What was once Queens College was established in the year 1766, 10 years before America was even a country. As the retired TV commercial once echoed, "Before there was a United States... (there was Rutgers)."
Rutgers has a history dating further back than the country we celebrate today; so as we remember our founding fathers and the signing of the constitution, let us also keep in mind the great University we celebrate every day on this website.
