Former Rutgers football players’ alleged assault court case delayed again

NEW BRUNSWICK – Former Rutgers football players previously indicted in an alleged aggravated assault and riot that took place last April had their case adjourned Friday morning in Middlesex County Superior Court.

Brothers Daryl and Delon Stephenson, Nadir Barnwell, Ruhann Peele, Razohnn Gross and Tejay Johnson are due back in court March 14 at 1:30 p.m, according to county assistant prosecutor Deborah Hay.

None of the players faced Judge Dennis Nieves on Friday because the attorney for Delon Stephenson had to be in court for trial on another unrelated matter, according to attorney Joseph Benedict, who is representing Peele.
