Kyle Flood can return to coach in the college football ranks without any restrictions.
Exactly one year after the NCAA Committee on Infractions hit him with a one-year penalty due to his "lack of oversight'' over a heavily sanctioned Rutgers football program, Flood gets his show-cause lifted Friday.
The show-cause penalty meant that any NCAA school wishing to hire him needed to explain why he should not have restrictions on any coaching-related activity.
In December 2016, the NCAA issued Rutgers with a Notice of Allegations that included charges of widespread drug use by players that was covered up, as well as improprieties with the football program's student-ambassador recruiting program, and Flood's violation of the university's compliance policy for contacting faculty and attempting to change a player's grade.
