By the time she arrived on campus as a freshman, Audrey Meehan already owned a Rutgers sailing team shirt and a deep knowledge of the team’s practice routines.
While the existence of sailing as a co-ed club sport may surprise even the most ardent Scarlet Knights supporters, it was anything but unknown to Meehan, the team’s vice president and one of four officers.
As a high schooler out on her own at Shrewsbury Yacht Club, she used to steal glances across the water.
“I would see them practicing because we were at the same venue,” said Meehan, a Little Silver native.
