PISCATAWAY -- By the time that Greg Schiano arrived and woke up New Jersey to Rutgers football in 2001, Marco Battaglia was five years out of school.
By the time annual bowl trips started in 2005, Battaglia was a decade removed from Rutgers.
As of Sunday -- when Rutgers unveiled a state-of-the-art football practice complex with a price tag of more than $8 million -- more than two decades have passed since Battaglia was the 1995 Big East Offensive Player of the Year and the school's first unanimous First-Team All-American.
