Mike Dare told the truth.
When Dare announced his intentions to transfer from Rutgers just a few days after the 2016 season ended, he didn't envision himself taking the junior college route.
But after months of reviewing options -- including some at the FCS (formerly Division I-AA) level -- the former No. 2-rated quarterback in New Jersey told NJ Advance Media that he is transferring to Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pa. for the fall semester.
"JUCO wasn't my first option in this whole process," Dare said, "but towards the end I realized that I really want to get back and play big-time football -- and JUCO is the way that I can do that.
