Chris Laviano has made his way back across the country for one final act as a college quarterback.
The ex-Rutgers quarterback and Long Island native will be the starter for LIU-Post, a Division-2 program, after transferring in for his final season of college eligibility.
The Pioneers will open the season Saturday at home against American International.
"It's extremely exciting to finish where I started," Laviano told Newsday.
Laviano did not play football last season after abruptly leaving San Diego State's program in August 2017. Aztecs coach Rocky Long said at the time Laviano had informed him he wanted to play college lacrosse, but it doesn't appear Laviano did that.
