PISCATAWAY — A year ago, Rutgers employed a tailback-by-committee approach.
Of the 381 carries garnered by the four tailbacks, no one totaled more than 37 percent of the rushes. Robert Martin led the way with 763 yards on 141 carries, followed by Josh Hicks (130 carries for 674 yds.), Paul James (99 for 544) and Justin Goodwin (11 for 20).
With Martin, Goodwin and Hicks returning and with true freshman Trey Sneed and redshirt freshman Charles Snorweah added to the mix, Rutgers has even more running back depth heading into training camp.
