Corey Sanders, Geo Baker lift 5-0 Rutgers over Bryant

As he skipped toward the locker room to get one last break prior to tipoff Tuesday night, Corey Sanders heaved a shot from just in front of the halfcourt line. It hit nothing but net.

Call it a preview for what was in store for Sanders and the Rutgers men's basketball team.

After getting benched in the previous outing due to what coach Steve Pikiell called poor practice habits, Sanders was sensational in his return to the starting lineup.

The junior guard delivered a gift on Pikiell's 50th birthday, scoring 18 on 8-for-14 shooting and adding five assists, three steals and four rebounds to lift Rutgers to a 83-54 triumph over Bryant before 3,044 fans at the Rutgers Athletic Center in Piscataway.
