PISCATAWAY—Rutgers found itself as close as it has been in 2016 to losing, but the Scarlet Knights showed their resiliency and used a late run to defeat Hartford, 77-75, at the Rutgers Athletic Center on Friday.
The victory was clinched by senior center C.J. Gettys, who put home a rebound with six seconds the play. Gettys finished the contest with 10 points
Gettys' game-winning put back came as part of a 18-5 run that the Knights used to close out the victory.
The win brought the Scarlet Knights' record to 6-0, which marks the programs best start since 1975-76.
