PISCATAWAY – Ohio State defensive coordinator Chris Ash is set to become the next Rutgers football coach, two university officials said.
The hire is pending formal approval from the school’s Board of Governors, which is set to meet at noon Monday, according to posted public notice.
An introductory press conference is expected to follow.
Ash, who is replacing Kyle Flood, has coached against Rutgers each of the last three seasons – twice under Urban Meyer in the Big Ten and once under Bret Bielema in his previous post as defensive coordinator at Arkansas.
Not Golden, Schiano or any of many big-names floated behind scenes.
