Chris Ash doesn't plan to flip-flop Rutgers QB job after Gio Rescigno's winning formula

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- One quarter after he clutched his knee in pain from a punishing hit, Giovanni Rescigno was taking a knee on the significant final snap of the game.

It was a roller-coaster day for Rescigno, who has had a roller-coaster last 12 months -- even if his reserved personality doesn't show more than a hint of those emotions.

But, in his return to the starting lineup, Rescigno earned the right to line up in the victory formation at the end of Rutgers' 35-24 victory against Illinois.

"On the Fridays before games, the last play of our walk-through (practice) is the victory formation," Rescigno said.
