On Thursday, Rutgers women’s lacrosse sophomore Cassidy Spilis was named to the Tewaaraton Award watch list. The award is given annually to the top male and female college lacrosse player across Division I, II and III.
Spilis leads the Big Ten and is sixth natioally with 21 goals scored this season through six games. The sophomore scored a career high 7 goals in a comeback win over Johns Hopkins, the first in program history. She also has 22 draw controls, 14 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. Spilis is the first Scarlet Knight to land on the Tewaaraton watch list since Katie Batiuk was included in 2007.
