PISCATAWAY – If Chris Laviano winds up becoming the next starting quarterback at Rutgers, he will owe a debt of gratitude to Carlton Agudosi.
Laviano, a redshirt sophomore, had a strong Scarlet-White Game on Friday night, finishing 8-for-10 for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Both of those touchdown passes went to Agudosi, a 6-foot-6 redshirt junior who has seemingly become Laviano’s favorite target in the mold of Gary Nova-to-Leonte Carroo.
Agudosi finished Friday with four catches for 91 yards and the two scores to cap a huge spring. As he has come on, so has Laviano, who head coach Kyle Flood said has a bit of a lead in the quarterback competition with Hayden Rettig.
