Sky Blue FC, the National Women's Soccer League franchise based at Rutgers, is getting some serious local flavor.
Shortly after the Central Jersey team drafted recently departed Rutgers star goalkeeper Casey Murphy with the third pick in the second round of the NWSL Draft, reports surfaced that Sky Blue FC had acquired the most accomplished player in Rutgers women's soccer history in a blockbuster trade.
Philly.com reported a three-team deal that will see Carli Lloyd moving from Houston to Piscataway, U.S. National Team star Christen Press going from Chicago to Houston and Australian phenom Sam Kerr heading to Chicago from Sky Blue.
