SOUTH ORANGE — C. Vivian Stringer didn't mince any words following Rutgers' lopsided 77-49 loss to in-state rival Seton Hall on Monday night at Walsh Gymnasium.
"I thought that they brought it to us, and quite frankly, they just beat us," Stringer said. "There's nothing else to say. They out-hustled us, they played harder than what we did. We looked like deers stuck in headlights."
While Rutgers ended Seton Hall's season in the playoffs the last two years, the Pirates dominated the latest iteration of the Garden State showdown, pushing their lead to as high as 31 points in the final quarter.
